England Couldn’t Qualify For The Circus!!!!

Why did I bother getting up so early to watch the game. Not just any game I must add but probably the most important game for England since trying to qualify for the last big event, world cup, Euro championships or whatever. All England games tend to be important, especially as the so called home nation of football, and having a custom of doing things the hard way.

For those of you that do not follow football that is soccer, I am rambling on about the qualifying stage for the European championships held next year in Austria & Switzerland. Sorry if I bore you, and I suggest that you choose another post, but I have to rant a little.

This time England were given a little BIG help from Israel. Thanks to a 2-1 win over Russia, England required only a draw to qualify. After such a dismal campaign and with all hopes gone, basically relying on other teams to help, the Israel unexpected win lifted hopes and gave England a lifeline, and a generous one at that, lets face it they didn’t need to win, a draw would do.

So up I get and with a nice cuppa in hand the game began, in terrible conditions, rain and lots of it. But England should be used to that you say, exactly. The manager made some changes to the team, which were fatal, so off with his head I say. If he does not resign he needs to bet sacked. So to cut a long boring rant to an abrupt end just like England, final score from Wembly the home of English football England 2 Croatia 3 they were defeated yes beat, lost, crushed, outplayed, out gunned, outran, outclassed, and now they will become outcasts, oh the English press will have a field day. Croatia I must add are a very good team and one place above England in world rankings, and it did show. If it was not for a very soft penalty England would have been even more embarrassed.

So now that is off my chest I can head to work. Not much food or anything culinary in that post but it had to be said.
